Finally got around to putting up my Christmas post
I've been off work for the last two weeks. You'd think with all this time I would have had time to post my pix from Christmas but, no, I've just been too lazy!!!

Christmas Eve we had dinner with my brother and sister in law and my nephew. G received her first gift from them. I thought she might be a little tentative about opening the gift, she is sometimes timid with new things, but no problem there. She tore into those babies like there was no tomorrow!!!

We'd been talking up Santa quite a bit and I'd explained to her that we would be leaving milk and cookies for him. Brett decided we needed oreos so that's what it was. G was so excited to carry the little plate of cookies into the living room to leave on the table for the big red man but didn't quite make it all the way before the cookies slid off the plate. No matter, we just popped them right back on!!! G then spent the next 10 mins looking at the cookies and milk and saying "Santa" "milk and cookies" "presents" over and over and over again. Too cute!!

She woke up early, of course. But the great thing about her age is that by morning she had completely forgotten that it was Christmas. We were able to slip her past the tree without her noticing and got some breakfast in her. When I finally asked her about the milk and cookies, she remembered and went running to the living room to find that the plate contained only crumbs and the milk was GONE!!! She was thrilled!! "Cookies, milk, all gone" "where'd they go??" "cookies, gone, Santa" again and again and again. She was so cute and so excited.

Brett and Casey have been home on break and acting like complete slugs. You know staying up until all hours of the night playing video games and then sleeping until noon. But G was ready to open her gifts by about 7:30 so I let her go and wake them up. They were thrilled... uh... not. But they did manage to find their enthusiasm.

Again, G loved opening her presents. She quickly figured out which packages contained books and would slide those over unopened to find the bigger, square packages. What a little smarty.

As it turned out, her favorite gift was her legos. She loves them and will play quietly with them for 20-30 mins at a time. Yeah!!!

Showing me Santa's cookie. Poor Santa, can you imagine being expected to eat that cookie all it had been through?
