Your Issue Profile: 56% Obama, 44% McCain |
Truth be told, you're not really satisfied with either of the candidates. You could vote for either of them. You are the typical coveted swing voter. You may want to narrow yourself down to a particular set of issues in order to pick your president. Or start looking at third party candidates. One of them might suit you better. |
I'd say that pretty much sums it up for me. I keep asking myself "is this the best we've got?"
I have this sinking feeling that the next 4 years are not going to be good ones for our nation no matter who ends up as president.

I like to consider myself an american not a R or D, and have always voted for the person I think will best lead our country to meet it's highest goals and aspirations. So, you should definately vote your own heart and mind.
I just thought I'd mention--I watch and have read LOTS about both candidates this past 18 months--and as I recall--the Barack Obama is the and Hillary Clinton are the only two that have ever mentioned supporting adoption legislation that will encourage adoption in our country! As a PAP--and what looks like will be a new MOM soon--this might be something to consider. Certainly not everything--but something you should look into. The current adoption tax credit law is due to expire in 2010--and with the economy bad as it is--and we're over budget so badly--frankly, I'm concerned it will not get renewed as a way to help balance the budget. I know everyone was hopeful it would pass easily--before the Wall Street Crisis--but now--I don't know what the thoughts are.
Bottom line is your So right--this next 4-years is the biggest challenge or the next president and ALL OF US--but, it's my feeling we need to change things--not just get NEW faces to implement the same policies--and expect change.
On leadership style--I want a leader that will be honest with me--and frankly based on the Keating 5 deal McCain was involved in--(which I only learned about recently) and Large number of other lies and distortions from the McCain of late--I'm not sure I trust him. And I want to dang it.
Again--don't want to push you one way or the other--just some thoughts from another MOM waiting to adopt a little girl from China--just like you...who would be heart broken if that dream were to end--for me or anyone else.
I pray you have news TODAY of your referral...you have waited long enough and your patience will be rewarded soon! Happy, happy days are here for you...and that warms my heart...truly.
