And away we go!
Wow! The last few days have been a whirlwind. Sunday night I went with my mom to the Pantages to see our first show of the season Come Fly Away. It was Frank Sinatra music accompanied by some pretty amazing dancing. The show was only 80 minutes long but you could really see why. I don’t know how much longer those dancers could dance without keeling over. We did a pre-show dinner at Katsuya. I really like that place!
Monday was Halloween, of course. So we got up early so I could get G ready for her school costume parade and party. G felt very special in her costume and had lots of fun. Her party ended about 10:30 which was a good thing because, as of that moment, we hadn’t packed a single thing. Once we got home I spent hours packing. It always takes so much longer than I expect it will.
During this time we also did trick or treating which G loved!!! Not surprisingly, she was a lot more confident this year than last and we covered quite a bit more ground. Every house we went to commented on her costume and G would say “off with their heads!” So funny. I hardly had to remind her about saying “trick or treat” and “thank you” and each time she’d get a candy she was so excited! Super cute.
Tuesday morning started with us dragging ourselves out of bed at 4:15am which got us to the airport at about 5:30 for our 6:45 flight. It was an ok 2:40 flight to Houston. Then after a quick lunch we reboarded the same plane and flew another 2 hrs to Miami. Again, not bad but still super tiring. We got lucky only having to wait about 5 mins for the hotel shuttle to pick us up and take us to the La Quinta. I’d describe the hotel as serviceable. Not fancy but clean and for just one night, including free airport and port shuttle, breakfast and wi-fi, a bargain. The only bummer was that we needed to go to a store to get some last minute things which required a taxi ride --$46 round trip! Most expensive trip to Wal Mart and Chili’s ever!
Anyway, tomorrow is Get on the Big Boat Day at last. Seriously can’t wait. Yeah!!!
Here are a couple pix from last night. First G all decked out and ready to go.
This is after we got back from treating. G loves to play with the candy. She'll look at it and sort it and ask questions about it all the while trying to eat as much as she possibly can. Silly girl!
